The redesigned Copilot platform offers a more streamlined design and, according to Microsoft, makes it easier for users to chat. For example, the new interface includes a carousel with prompt ideas.

Image creation in Copilot has been significantly improved. Users can now create images and edit them directly, for example, by highlighting objects, blurring the background of an image, or applying other effects such as pixel art to their image.

These features remain free. Copilot Pro subscribers can also easily adjust and resize image formats between portrait and landscape in the chat environment. Microsoft will soon integrate a "Designer GPT" into Copilot that will give users additional image customization options.

Copilot is free and works with Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari or as a mobile app for iOS and Android. The platform is available at copilot.microsoft.com and in the iOS and Android app stores.

Microsoft focuses on productivity and creativity in Super Bowl ad

According to Microsoft, users have engaged in five billion chats and generated five billion images since the platform launched about a year ago. The platform has brought "sustained growth" to the Microsoft Edge browser and Bing search engine.

Despite Microsoft's initial challenge, Google continues to dominate the search engine market. Even Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella admitted in court that Microsoft overestimated the potential of Bing Chat as a search engine killer.

The subtle redesign of Copilot and a Super Bowl ad show that Microsoft is continuing to push generative AI and Copilot products in particular. But the focus of the ad is on productivity and creativity, not Internet search.

Recently, Microsoft has launched several collaborations with news organizations to bring generative AI into newsrooms to help journalists with research, finding sources, translation, and other tasks.

In addition, Microsoft may participate in a funding round for Figure AI, a startup developing human-like robots. Microsoft's cloud business in particular is benefiting from generative AI and the partnership with OpenAI. According to Microsoft CEO Nadella, the most commonly used application is summarization.
