Open source AI projects get a much-needed boost with new grant program

The open-source ecosystem is developing AI models that rival closed-source alternatives, but developers often lack resources for their projects. To bridge this gap, a16z has launched the Open Source AI Grant Program to fund a small group of developers. The first batch includes developers focused on instruction tuning LLMs, uncensored LLM fine-tuning, foundation model fine-tuning, and more. The program aims to support open collaboration, learning, and advancement in artificial intelligence.
