OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has become the first holder of Indonesia's golden visa, which aims to attract foreign investors to Southeast Asia's largest economy. The new visa allows holders to stay for up to 10 years, with perks including priority security screening at airports and simplified entry and exit procedures. It is unclear whether Altman, who visited Jakarta in June to discuss artificial intelligence, has applied for the visa or plans to invest in Indonesia. Since its launch last year, OpenAI's tools have spurred increased investment in AI-supporting infrastructure.
