Hong Kong's Education Bureau has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum for secondary school students, integrating AI instruction into the classroom and covering topics such as computer vision, robotic reasoning, ethics, and the societal impact of AI. Starting in September, the curriculum will include 10-14 hours of AI lessons to prepare students for the increasing role of AI in everyday life. More than 1,000 teachers are attending workshops to help them adapt to the new AI-focused approach to education.

Cloud computing is the second-largest spending area at 21%. About two-thirds of respondents said their investments in AI are accelerating, while 53% said rising interest rates have led to a slowdown in overall spending. 47% say AI will create more jobs than it destroys, 26% think otherwise, and 26% say it's too early to tell. The survey polled top technology executives from a variety of sectors, including chief information officers and chief technology officers from industries such as marketing, pharmaceuticals, and utilities.

AI voice synthesis startup ElevenLabs has launched a tool to detect and prevent generative audio fraud. Users can upload audio samples, and the AI speech classifier will determine whether the content was generated by its platform, with a claimed accuracy rate of 99% for unmodified input and 90% for modified input.

Concurrent with the launch, ElevenLabs raised $19 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, and Andreessen Horowitz. The company plans to use the investment to build a voice AI research center and launch additional products targeting market verticals such as publishing, gaming, and entertainment.
