Midjourney prompted by THE DECODER

Chinese tech giant Baidu has made its ChatGPT-equivalent language model, Ernie Bot, fully available to the public, increasing the company's stock price by over 3%. Ernie Bot generates text and images based on user prompts and can be accessed via the official website and an app in China. Baidu CEO Robin Li believes the public release will allow for massive real-world human feedback, improving the AI model.

Meanwhile, new Chinese AI regulations require companies to undergo security reviews and gain approval before product launches, with compliance also mandated for government technology and data requests.
