Mercedes test drives ChatGPT for onboard voice control

Mercedes-Benz is launching a test program in the U.S. that allows drivers to use ChatGPT for voice control in their cars. ChatGPT, powered by Microsoft's cloud, will be compatible with 900,000 Mercedes vehicles equipped with "MBUX" systems. The technology is designed to make the car system's responses more natural and versatile, allowing drivers to ask for destination information or other assistance. The test program, which begins today, will last three months, and its results will inform Mercedes' plans for AI features in other countries and languages.
