German research network launches "42" AI supercomputer
The Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence (hessian.AI) is powering up its new forty-two supercomputer optimized for AI development and research. Built by HP, it features 632 Nvidia A100 GPUs and four Graphcore IPUs. Peak performance is said to be eight petaflops, making it one of the top 100 most powerful supercomputers in the world. The name comes from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
