According to a Morgan Stanley survey of 2,000 people in April, 19 percent rely on ChatGPT and 9 percent use Google Bard, mostly to learn about a new topic.

With only a few months on the market, that's an impressive number, but Morgan Stanley researchers say it's "only" 20 percent. Your call. Most people who haven't used chatbots are unlikely to use them in the next six months, according to the study.

The majority of users still start their online shopping and travel research with Google Search, YouTube, or Bard. Morgan Stanley highlighted Google's potential to maintain its lead with personalized, AI-generated search results, especially in travel. The company is currently rolling out its SGE to early users.
