Samsung Research has introduced Samsung Gauss, a generative AI model designed for AI applications on devices. The model consists of Samsung Gauss Language, which helps with tasks such as writing emails and translating content; Samsung Gauss Code, which is optimized for in-house software development; and Samsung Gauss Image, which creates and edits creative images. Currently used for employee productivity, Samsung Gauss will be extended to various Samsung product applications in the near future. It's not yet clear if and when Samsung will implement Gauss in its smartphones. Samsung banned third-party generative AI systems in May after Samsung employees reportedly entered sensitive data into ChatGPT, which likely led to Gauss.
