There are many metaverse definitions. Almost all of them have to do with immersive parallel worlds in which we encounter each other as Matrix-style avatars, or which lie above reality as a digital plane, as we know them from Blade Runner, for example. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who personally put the Metaverse hype train on the rails in the fall of 2021, has another perspective: He understands the Metaverse as timing. Is his timing right for the departure?
