Meta hasn't officially announced any plans for social AI chatbots, but other companies like Snap have recently experimented with similar elements. The potential challenge is creating a chatbot that is safe, but still engaging, especially for young people. Meta declined to comment on Instagram's AI chatbot plans, but in April, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that his company was working on AI chats for WhatsApp and Messenger.
