Perplexity adds one-click shopping to its AI answer platform

AI answer engine Perplexity introduces new shopping features, including a one-click checkout for Pro users in the U.S. called "Buy with Pro" and a visual search feature called "Snap to Shop" that matches product suggestions to uploaded photos. At the same time, Perplexity is launching a retailer program that will allow larger retailers to directly integrate their product data for a better chance of getting recommendations. One potential downside to this new shopping feature is errors in Perplexity's AI responses, known as "hallucinations." The company has not yet disclosed how often these errors occur.
