Artificial Intelligence is a key technology that can help us solve major societal challenges such as climate change, energy supply, healthcare, education or logistics. AI can solve specific problems more effectively by supporting us in decision-making, automating solutions and thus scaling them, or discovering completely new solutions. But the use of AI also poses new risks, for example when it comes to surveillance or questions of social justice.

As part of the tenth anniversary of the Disney Accelerator program, The Walt Disney Company is funding five AI startups, including ElevenLabs, which specializes in creating high-quality synthetic voices. The other companies selected are AudioShake, Nuro, PrometheanAI, and StatusPro, which are working in the areas of AI-powered audio separation, realistic speech synthesis, autonomous vehicle technology, virtual world creation, and immersive sports experiences.

The Disney Accelerator provides participating companies with investment capital, access to co-working space at the Disney Creative Campus, and mentoring and guidance from senior Disney executives. The company typically also invests in participating startups. One of the most prominent graduates of the program: Epic Games.

Microsoft has announced a €3.2 billion investment to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure in Germany, the largest investment in the country in the company's 40-year history. The investment will double the capacity of Microsoft's cloud region in Frankfurt and build new infrastructure in North Rhine-Westphalia. By 2025, Microsoft plans to train more than 1.2 million people in digital skills. The expansion will help meet the growing demand for AI-specific computing power and cloud solutions while enabling the training and application of new AI models and services on the Microsoft Azure platform. Microsoft aims to support industries such as manufacturing, automotive, finance, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and medical technology.
