Mike Krieger, co-founder and former CTO of Instagram, has joined Anthropic as Chief Product Officer. Krieger will lead the AI company's product development and expand the availability of the AI chatbot Claude. He has a lot of experience in building scalable products: At Instagram, he grew the development team to over 450 employees and scaled the platform to over one billion users. Most recently, Krieger developed the personalized news app Artifact for three years before it was acquired by Yahoo. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei sees Krieger's background in developing intuitive products and user experiences as a valuable contribution to the company, particularly in designing new ways of interacting with Claude in the workplace.

Anthropic's chatbot Claude is finally available in Europe. Until now, the biggest competitor to ChatGPT was only accessible from the EU via VPN or API. The company also announced that Claude is now available as an iOS app in the Apple App Store. For businesses, there is a new team plan with a higher usage limit and better management features. Anthropic has also updated its terms of service, terms and conditions, and privacy policy. The data controller for users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland is now the Irish subsidiary Anthropic Ireland Limited. The data retention period has been changed to 30 days and Amazon Web Services has been added as a sub-processor. The full documents are available on Anthropic's website.
